Understanding the Uses of Containment Scaffolds

Containment scaffolding materials are used to allow construction work to be performed on an occupied building without disrupting occupants. They guarantee zero contamination from construction area permeates into working areas through suppressing debris, dust and other contaminators. Other uses of containment scaffolds include;
  1. Safety and environmental purposes
This mainly applies where construction work is carried out near vehicular and pedestrian access. They minimize accidents to the public, and the public area lost to the construction work.
  1. Protect workers
Industrial safety nets are used to prevent falls by workers especially when working at height and in places that cannot hold temporary guard railing or scaffolds. To serve this purpose, the industrial nets are made from synthetic fiber, knotted lines and supported with a mesh of about 100mm in size. They must be attached to perimeter cords. Industrial safety nets are designed to hold varying fall distances ranging from 1.0m to 6.0m.

Containments increase the environmental loads such as rain and wind loads to the scaffolds in use. This means that you will have a high scaffolds dead load. Moreover, the scaffolds may require additional ties and a recommendation from a chartered engineer in areas that experience extreme weather conditions. For this reason, it is important to determine whether your scaffolding rental RI charges extra for contained scaffolds.
